The filler letter is a blank paper of no value. They put it just to complete the application so that programs dont wait for any deans letter.

Shadia, If you can, try to get a Dean letter/MSPE because most programs require it. It works toward your advantage

Hi catmd04/the holy man, I have a query.... I am an FMG. I dont have a dean's letter right but I will get it in two weeks time. Can I now apply to programs with the rest of the documents, letting the ECFMG put a filler letter in place of dean's letter and then add the dean's letter to my documents once I get. Will the ECFMG/ERAS let me add the dean's letter once they have put the filler letter?? Thanks in advance buddies and wish you gudluck for the residency!!

Dont let the ecfmg put the filler letter..select the option that your school will provide a mspe and send it when you have it available ..you have ample time untill last week of october to send the deans letter..

Hi Laptop, thanks for your response. Do you mean that I can send the dean's letter anytime before 1st of Nov and still I can make the CAF complete now by choosing 'yes' to the dean's letter in the application, even though the letter is not with the ECFMG when I send the application to progrms.

Exactly as you said s100 except that at least one week before 1st november will sound better than anytime before 1st november. You can safely click" yes " to deans letter and send your application anytime now. good luck
