I had written a one page Statement and felt okay with the content. I have applied to programs with one editted version of the statement. My colleague at work read my PS today and felt that it had negative points.. like that I did not have any ambition as a child and also that I said unsure of specialty choice when I graduated... He actually gave me the impression that it was crap....
Now I have 2 questions:
1- are these things negative? I am being honest...
2- If I try and edit my PS now... the programs will still have rvd my old PS.. will the new one replace it or will they read both while evaluationg me..
It is too early in the application and I feel i still ahve time for change.. Plz help.. and i want honest opinion obviously....

#2. Programs won't have your old PS. Once you send a new one, the former one disappears.....

I think it should be o.k....if u send another that might show some indecisiveness and unpreparedness...let it go man...sit back...relax..PDs read PS only before interviewing a candidate(i think so) and u can make a right imprssion then,,,, GL

i agree with bbb. however remem a ps is a very subjective thing. my ps was praised by a few friends and trashed by others. if u feel ur ps needs changes - go ahead and get them done stat and send em across. dont worry. and the old one will dissapear as per the words of the expert even i might change my ps mid oct.

thank you all...the changes will probably include on line but I just felt very down after the comment I got... I will make the changes and send the new one stat... It is funny though bcos I had editted my first statement and had sent them to all programs just this morning b4 leaving for work.. anyways..

Hi Moozy. Did they find your misplaced docs in ECFMG?
personally I dont ask for feedback on PS(or any thing else) after I've sent it. Because I know different people will opine differently about it. It allso keeps me stress free (since I have other things that give me stress:-). So this time get all your friends and family's opinions before you submit and make only the changes that you feel you need to:-) Good lluck.

Yes they did contact me after i confirmed the name of person who signed for my documents..... they rcvd it.... may be it was stuck ina pile for a few days .....

will the programs come back to load updates after they have updated my transcripts and PS already.... I was wondering why would programs come back to my application after they have downloaded all the required info already? Is their some kind of auto update??

This is my guess, but whenever there is new information, it will prompt programs for download. bbb would be able to answer this better.

well. i have changed the PS and most programs have downloaded it... with the match process i hear so many thing everyday.. i think my adrenal gland is also tired now
now someone i know said that the PDs compare the changes in your old and new PS....i hope thats not the case.... i am relying on advice by bbb and apurva and the other advice on this thread...
just checked ERAS.. no new messages.. i hope this is a good news and not the silence before storm....
