Hi everybody, I recently passed the Step 1 with a result, I wasn't really happy about. But that's in the past now and I can't change it anyway. Now I want to start to prepare for the Step 2 and hope that I get a better result. As I am a foreign medical student it is difficult to get information about the preparation for Step 2. For Step 1 it was quite easy to get information. Which books can you recommend for an excellent preparation for Step 2 ? 'Cause I don't want to make the same mistake like in Step 1, where I got lost in too much details, which are absolutely unnecessary for the exam to know. Hope to hear from your exam experiences, the time you needed for preparation and so on... Thanx a lot for your help.

Well I am using Kaplan Step 2 CK books that I bought off EBAY for about 100$ (2005-06) and some DVDs of lectures for about 50$ (2005-06). I have FA Step 2 CK (First AID)....though its not as good as for the Step 1....would not completely rely on that. You need to join www.usmleworld.com and do their Qbanks from what I hear.....For medicine I am also using a reference book...DAVIDSON's Practice of Medicine. I will also take the Kaplan Qbank from www.kaplan.org . I think this should be more than enough. I plan on studying for about 4 months. My eligibility is Jan-MAr 07.
