so there are this kaplan qbank, now there is this underwear qbank, and i think that i am also on that exammaster qbank then there is this cd from nbme qbank.
there are so many of them. how can i possibly do all of them?!

Kaplan Qbank is definately a good one. You might want to try usmlerx as well. Unlike Qbank, which has lots of totally useless questions, most of the usmlerx questions are quite relevant to the exam.

yes. i know what uw stands for, i was being funny. 
i tried the usmlerx sampe question, it didn't work. i can't get the answers or it won't let me pick an answer.
and if u go to that site today, it has free first aid, when u click on it, it says coming soon! wtf!
i have a kaplan qbank book. is it the same thing as their qbank onlne?

usmlerx is very new, they're still actively working on the site, so some things won't work there. However their qbank is totally functional. I didn't have any problems with it. Keep trying their 10-question sample to get a feel for it.
Kaplan's Qbook is a different set of question from their online Qbank.

After doing kaplan qbank, if you have the time and the money to add another qbank go for UW qbank.It is tough but all the questoins are designed to give you a knolwledge on frequently tested concepts.The explanation is very nice and very important.And the format is exactly the same as the real exam.So in the exam day you will feel comfortable and might pretend that you are at home and doing your qbank.
BTW I had a big laugh when I read the 'under wear qbank'thing.

i did kaplan q bank and yes, it was tough but, it sure came in handy..however the UW bank wasnt made then ( for step 1)
my advice..do q bank. if u have cash to spare try UW..
do u have q bank' or q book. q book, a single one is different from q bank.

yes. i have a qbank book from kaplan. and i can also use exam master online's qbanks. are they good enough? i also have the nms qbank Cd.

oh. yea. and all the pretest books. from what i have read and heard the pretest books are useless?

I had a peep at the Behavioral science pretest book, going over the ethical and patient-physician relationship issues there and I thought the questions were completely useless. They tested arcane concepts that I knew weren't going to be tested. Then again, behavioral science (the ethics and patient-physican part of it) is not represented well on any of the qbanks.
With UW, Kaplan Qbank and Qbook, you have a total of 5000 questions. Do these questions well (quality is more important than quantity), and they will be MORE than enough. I found it extremely difficult to do more than 100 questions a day, and that was my speed in the end. However, the big big blunder I made was not starting questions earlier. I started them 35 days before my exam and only managed to do 2500, and that was after a superhuman effort. If you intend to do 5000 or so questions, start doing them 2 months before your exam, at least.
