78 year old woman has a 2 month history of flailing movements of the limbs on one side
there is no family history of similar movements disorder
which of the following atructures is most likely to be involved ?

Hemiballismus - lesion in the contralateral subthalamic nucleus. Due to loss of inhibition of thalamus by globus pallidus. It's a lesion of the indirect (inhibitory) D2 dopaminergic pathway.
