Hi guys,

My green card petition has been approved a couple of weeks ago and according to the service center, I might get my document in ~ 2months. Is there anybody in a similar situation? I don't know what to put as "expected visa when in a program" because there is no option for "Green card" or "permanent resident" . It has an option for "immigrant" but that wouldn't be correct (even though lots of people use that term for green card holders). Any ideas?

Thanks

i could have sworn there is an option for 'permanent resident'...

if you have been approved, then you can claim your status as 'premanent resident'...

do double check though...

good luck

Hi blikkonebe,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is an option under the "current status visa" but not under "expected visa when you start a program". I want to put "permanent resident" as my current status but it is not true, even though my lawyer said that it is just a matter of time. So it would be very easy if I had an option to click but who said that this process is supposed to be easy and simple? (laughs)

what document are you supposed in two months? is it the green card itself, or the first letter do get your biometrics?

if it is the green card, then you are almost a permanent resident and will be by next july...and if it is the biometric letter; you still stand a very good chance to be a permanent resident come july '07...

it is your call...

Thanks again blizkonebe! In fact I did a concurrent application (which runs faster than the traditional application in steps) and I am just waiting for biometrics. So, as you said, I will have it by July anyway.

Thanks!! and Good luck!
