Does anyone know the requirements of Western Penn Hospital and Easton Hospital in Penn state... I have heard these are IMG friendly places.... have anyone of you applied to these places?

Western Penn: 85+, H1/J1, don't know about USCE.
Easton: 80+, USCE desirable but not mandatory, don't know abt visa issues..

EASTON HOSPITAL,

It's look a bit old, but I received this yesterday.
2006-2007 academic year

Our website will soon be revised with updated information. However, please feel free to visit our website at easton-hospital.com and click on the medical application icon which will give you a list of show you a listing of areas relevant to our residency programs. Requirements (American or Foreign graduates) for our program are as follows:
  • Applications accepted only through ERAS
  • USMLE scores 80 or above or a pass
  • Letters of recommendations from three references
  • Foreign Graduates must be ECFMG certified
  • We will be sponsoring J-1 visas only - we DO NOT sponsor H-1 visas
  • US clinical experience is not a must, but helpful.
  • Graduation should be within 5 years of your application to us
  • We have two categorical positions, 2 preliminary positions, and one designated preliminary position available every year

Salaries and other benefits are available on our website. We have IMGs in our program and the same criteria does apply to both AG and FG.

thank you.... I wish I had 85 in step 1... I would have qualified for quite a few good programs... I have applied to a few programs requiring 85 + in the hope that they might ignore my step 1 score and see my UKCE... keeping fingers crossed

For west penn: Residency Requirements for Foreign Medical Graduates
  • We prefer 3 months US Clinical Experience Our minimum score requirements on USMLE Step1 & Step 2. Your scores must be 200 or above. We only sponsor J-1 visa (no H1) Three letters of recommendation from US clinical attendings. We accept appliactions via ERAS only. You must be ECFMG certified prior to any interview. Deadline for applications is December 1, 2006.



Our internview season starts as of November 1, 2006 until January 31, 2007.
