A patient is suffering from Non anion Gap metabolic acidosis with Hypokalemia.

What is the quickest method to differentiate that this disturbance is
  1. of renal origin
  2. of extra-renal origin

?????

BEst way is to calculate H+ ion excretion in Urine
Non Renal(exgrinsirrhea):H+ excretion in Urine High
Renal(RTA):Low in RTA
Urine H+=Urine Cl-(Urine Na+K)
Hope that helps
