HI bbb,
I need your help regarding a personal problem and hope that you will definitely help me out. I am a DISABLE medical graduate (IMG) preparing for USMLE step. I walk with the help of crutches and I have to live with them for the rest of my life. Before applying for USMLE I get some basic info about disability and residency and I was informed that US dont descrinimate ppl on disability basis plus there have been residents who are wheelchairs bound. That encouge me and I started my prep in the hope that I will have some chances of getting a postion.
My Q to you is if you came across two person one with disability and other normal during Residency interview , both have equal score and other formalities . which one will you prefer?
one more Q do you have a disable resident at your hospital?
please help me out I am in a great confusion
thanks

I've had a resident with a club foot, a hearing disabled resident, and one with an artifical leg. I am not going to answer your question exactly, because you know the answer to it - even if it isn't fair. It's not impossible, but it's not going to be easy. This is where you will have to sell yourself. And sell yourself hard. Good luck
