cud u kindly comment 1. how much radiology/figures contributed to the exam 2. level of detail required for the exam for oncology..UW deals with their stains and identifying subtypes. i have the kaplan dvds ( but older editions ) in which dr fischer mentioned they werent required. 3.aspects of step 1 that need revision for step 2 thanx
good luck with ur residencies

hi stud_ing; 1. About 6-7 torax Rx, 2 of them pediatrics, 2-3 CAT scans(easy ones), 5 skin lesions, 1 menstrual cicle graph, few blood smears and i cant remember anything else. 2. I'm not sure what you mean 3. There were questions about anatomy(nerve lesions, visual fields defects and other stuff like that), phatophisiology is important, and pharmacology.

1: I think I had very few radiology figures. Maybe 2 to 3. Derm was a little bit more maybe 7-9. But not very tough. 3: Mainly pathophysiology, some anatomy and some pharmacology as foco said.

thanx a lot ppl. 2. In UW there are qs on identifying the subtype of leukemias for example, based on thier staining characteristics...in the kaplan dvds they emphasise that u dont have to know classification etc in detail. i wanted to know if spending time on oncology details was worth it or not.

Agree with above in terms of images. Also make sure you know how to interpret fetal stress test strips (early, late & variable decels). I didn't have any questions on staging of cancers; don't know what the general consensus is, but not worth a lot of time memorizing staging.
