do you answer to race/ethnicity question?

  #2

i dont know what is the best answer

Personally I dont want to write it because I dont want the race and ethnic origin influence any of the decision. Having said that race and ethnic origin can be obvious with your history and name etc. I still dont want them to read this on the first page of application form.

I guess some people will love to write it and others will be reluctant. My experience in England is that you get biased with race and ethnicity if included in the Job application form. That's life you cant change it. Most of the programs I beleive try to minimize bias against this.

Its ur call entirely. I have not experienced bias this far in this country. But u what u r happy and comfortable with.

don't know. I think if they don't want ur race/ethnicity they won't take it even if got 99/99/99/99.

on the other hand, I'm wondering if not answering would mean being DEFENSIVE. what do you think?

I like European American when I have to - Other to really mess with the telemarketers minds.

What should you put? I don't know if it really matters - I don't think that I have ever used a filter for a race.

Good luck all!

usmlecracker! I didn't get ur point. could u explain?

If an applicant is uncomfortable with answering the question, then don't answer it. This isn't difficult for this question - it won't matter if you leave this one blank.
