A 26-year-old female comes to see you for an initial exam. She complains of having a depressed mood for several months. At one time she was on an antidepressant medication, which she felt helped somewhat, but she cannot recall the name of the drug. Currently, she is taking only a multivitamin. Her medical history is significant for asthma, dysmenorrhea, seasonal allergies, and a history of bulimia nervosa as a teenager. Which of the following medications would be contraindicated in this patient because of her medical history?

A. Buproprion

B. Imipramine

C. Paroxetine

D. Sertaline

E. Venlafaxine

is it because of the M blocking action of TCAs....
so it might exacerbate the asthma........??

A. Buproprion
Bupropion HCl is contraindicated in patients with a current or prior diagnosis of bulimia or anorexia nervosa because of a higher incidence of seizures noted in such patients
