Though the thought of writing a journal is good, I was always little relactant to write thinking how shall I be able to write or accept those miserable fialure in scedule by making new every other day!!!! After seeing many courageous mothers here, I think I shall dare to take the challange.......USMLE here I come?!!!!?Panning to take my exams in jan07.
Well....About myself...I shall put myself into old graduates category.Left school 10 yrs ago!!! Moved here with BIG hopes 5yrs ago.I am a homemaker with 2 cute daughters.Everyday seems like a ride on a rollercoaster!!!!! I go crazy balancing between kids, books and a busy husband with busier social life!!!
So back to studies...I am doing Kaplan.I have finished genetics and doing biochem. Am on chapter11 and plan to finish 12 and 13.OK so let me go for it now!
It is easier to start but hard to keep going.May GOD bless me enough strenght to reach this not so imposible goal.

You know what, moms? It sounds like a moms' club here. Should we set up a moms' club, and share our happiness, sadness, enouragement, even saving time recipes and housekeeping tips? We have to be moms, wives, workers, and USMLE crashers. Not like males, they can just study or study + work, and throw everything to their wives.

Well, just a thought. smiling face

Wow great going women.
Though, I'm not a mom but married and had to study STRAIGHT away after marriage..... (thats pretty hard, u know wink
AND, to motivate all the mothers....
I have a very good friend who is a mother of 3. She Studies, mashAllah , 10-12 hrs/day WITH the kids and she suffers from a bad migraine everyday as well as a few other health problems but she studies much better than even single girls... It is JUST determination and the will to do it all.
AND she not only studies mediocrely...infact she studies like some hot shot topper....She is an old graduate and had been out of touch for quite somewhile but if you ask her ANYTHING, she'll know....
She's a great motivational factor in my life......If she can do it, why can't all of us ???
Just pray and you'll do just fine......

Oh, my God, How come she could study 10/12 hrs/day with kids. I can't. If I read books in front of my son, he will throw my book away in no time. He just wants my 100% attention.wink I guess I just spoiled him.grin Well, I used to be a work hard student in my medical school. That is looooooooooooong time ago. I used to study from 6am to 12pm, and ate on my desk, had nap on my desk. Walking around just for relaxing my muscle or using bath room. Of course not every day, only twice a year, 2 months each time. Just before the exams.grin And I got excellent scores. In top 10 students. nodnod Buuuuuuuut, I am old now and I have husband, kid to take care of and a house to clean. shaking head But I guess I could find 3 months to give the exam a shoot.nod

Let's do it. Now.

USMLE for me...was nice reading ur topic.I am not a mom @ present but inshaALLAH soon going to be one....I have to take my exam this year's end & my baby will be coming early next year, inhsaALLAH.

Yeah I can imagine how hard it would be to study with kids around...doing all sorts of latest adventures,as I have friends too with 1/2/3 kids.....also have a couple of friends in the same boat like me;expecting & studying too.I wish all moms here best of luck for their endeavours & shall ask u all to keep me in ur prayers & send my way any handy tips u ppl.experienced while waitin those 9mths.nurturing a life within u.

And I really liked the idea of a MOM's CLUB..sounds great. We can share everything from our daily ups & downs towards our common goal to even quick recipes. Count me as a member alread whenever u ppl.create such a club.
