Hi I plan to write the exam in the mid of next year. I have been preparing for Anatomy from KLN. I have done Histo, Embryo and Gross Anatomy from it. The Neuroscience portion seems quite difficult to understand from it. I compared the stuff again from HY and I find it simpler to understand and retain. I have two questions: 1) Shall I redo all the Anatomy again from HY? Since Embryo portions are scattered in KLN and is given side-by-side in Anatomy. 2) Regarding Histology, how much of histo are we supposed to do from HY? Do we have to do the whole book from cover-to-cover? I would appreciate advice from experienced and successful test takers who have the knowledge of both the texts. Thankyou.

i found anat difficult too and i read over both sources. i hope u r doing kaplan DVDs for neuro. thay make life much simpler. the reason i preferrered kaplan was they help us figure out an approach to handling questions. if u think HY suits u choose it as ur main book and make additions to it from kaplan. ..conventionally, anatomy iis considered low yield. however, most of my friends and me got a considerable amount, esp neuroanat. i think clinicaly oriented anat is tested decently in step 1 so its worth ur time.

Thanks for the reply studying. I did see the initial DVDs but they didn't appeal me the reason being that the explaination is on the projector not on the slides and hardly I can see what's being explained on the illuminator. I think since I have done KLN already, I think I should stick to it and do the Neuroanatomy portion from HY. What is your expert opinion on that? Thankyou
