A 74-year-old man is in the hospital recovering from an appendectomy. His past medical history includes hypertension and diabetes. The patient suddenly becomes confused and has a fever of 102.4°F. He reports that little green men are coming into the room and harassing him. He is agitated and his symptoms become worse at night. The patient alternates between periods of impaired consciousness and periods of complete awareness. His daughter comes to visit and reports that her father normally has no problems with his memory and is never agitated. even I thought E, but the answer says B (dementia). The answers did not come with explanations. sad anyone can throw some light as to why B?
