I am not sure if this is high yield topic but found this question in a simulated usmle step 1 exam. can someone explain.

A seven-year-old child with cerebral palsy is more affected on the left side. His right arm is placed in a plaster cast for one month to allow his left arm to become more functional. This technique is thought to work via brain plasticity. The casting of his more functional arm is what kind of prevention?

A. Primary

B. Secondary

C. Tertiary

D. Quaternary

answer-c-tertiary prevention. (pt has ds we want to limit his disabiity)

primary-wearing helmet on a bicycle or the obvious which is not so obvious
immunization

secondary- Pap smear (limit severity of ds by early detection and treatment)
