i believe it should definately give u an edge. showcase it in a way that it adds lustre to ur appli. like an mph in epidemio for id/general internal medicine as fship, etc.. recently there has been talk that mph is not bein the same importance that it used to for residencies as many ppl have it. pds have realised that an incomplete mph means u just did it for the visa. however ppl who complete the masters are in involved in good opt work are given preference as per my senior who did a umich mph and got a publi in his opt landed at a top uni. and many folks told me it comes in very handy when goin for a fship. gl
