-erythromycin 500 mg 4 times a day orally for 10 days, shortens the duration of carraige.also may diminish the severity of coughing.
-azithromycin 500mg orally for 3 days..or
-clarithromycin 500mg orally twice daily for 7 days..is probably as effective as erythromycin and likely to be better tolerated.
