everyone is suggesting apply early even though the application is not complete. I wonder if I apply early and my application is not complete and lets say I am waiting to complete usce (hence US lor) or waiting for my CS where ECFMG certificate is required; and program download my application lets say today and print it and file it and when I manage to pass CS and or I have new US LOR, I feel the program might not update their own record and left me out. I made it very confusing, I hope you guys are with me with what I am saying!!!!!

Programs have to download every document that comes through ERAS or no documents. We cannot pick and choose which documents that we want.

From talking with other coordinators - most don't print files until just before the interview, not during the selection process.

Good luck.

so how does the program know that one more LOR has benn assigned to a their aplicant's profile .... i understand that transcripts will be updated and if we have mentioned that we are waiting for results.. they will download the transcript to see the outcome.. but what abt the LORs... I have applied to 40 programs today and 2 LORs have been scanned but not uploaded by ERAS and two are not yet scanned by ERAS.... so what happens now... I hope the program does not reject my application as only 2 LORs are available so far ...

Programs aren't going to review in the first days or even weeks - we know that material comes in a little at a time. I downloaded about 300 applications yesterday, none were complete. I'll download for a couple of weeks before they are seriously looked at.

thank you for the reply bbb.

my concern was that if you are still waiting for few things which are absolue essential for the program and you apply without them, the program will move on rejecting your application and going through other applications and not coming back to see that something which was not there is there or not at later stage.

thanks!!

So basically you're asking.... is it better to submit an incomplete application now (without LORs) or wait till you have LORs in the system and then submit the whole thing? I think one needs to wait to have the LORs... Right, BBB?

bbb has always said ... submit as early as possible and as complete as possible....

guys.... it is your call how long you want to wait... i would have said, designate the LOR writers and submit with whatever you have now... programs will surely come back to download your full application... also most of us have incomplete applications...
good luck.....
