Hi folks, Do you have any suggestions to the beginners, but to the very beginners? The first year and the days of under-grad I mean. When should I care about USMLE? If I should now, what do I have to do and why? Please write me? I would appriciate the simplest word. My e-mail adress is v_dogru@yahoo.com. By the way, I'm beginning istanbul tip on coming september.

Hi
I think it is pretty early for you to think about USMLE, but I think you can start to review USMLE step 1 studying sources for your routine curriculum exams. If you are planning to take these exams during your med years I recommend you to take first step during or at the end of the 5th year and the second step during or after the sixth year..If you are planing to take TUS for your Turkey specialty training it will also help your knowledge and skills improvement for these exams... I know they are quite different than other but most of my friends both took TUS and usmle's and they scored high 80's or 90's..
I hope these helps...All the best and good luck with your med studying.

Thank you for your critical answer alice. I heard that american universities do not accept the Turkish Medicine Diplomas but they accept the medstudents as foreign observers. So that the foggy news altered my plans a bit. I wonder how much of this is true?

Hi
I think what you have heard is not true. But if you want to make sure if your medical school diploma is acceptable and eligable for US certification you"d better check it from ECFMG.org ( http://imed.ecfmg.org/search.asp )
