First tell me which enzyme is important in salvage pathway?

answer is HGPRT

what reaction is involved in this enzyme?

there are two reaction that involve HGPRT

substrate--------------------------------> Product

Hypoxanthine----------------------------> Inosine

PRPP -------------------------------------cGMP

when these reaction are not proceeded forward, the substrate accumulate

HGPRT is missing in a syndrome very famous what is its name??

oh thanx star1 for your input.well now i have understood the concept that HGPRT ezyme requires PRPP as source of ribose -5 -phosphate ,and the reactions involved in salvage pathway are-----hypoxanthine_______________IMP
and guanine ______________________________GMP....
in LESCH-NYHAN syndrome HGPRT is missing therefore can't use PRPP leading to high levels of PRPP and no IMP n GMP formed leading to their decrease ....am i right guys...
