47y/o f with long history of dysphagia found to be due to esophageal webs .she has chronic anemia of unclear etiology.over last 6 months she has increased dysphagia and has unintentionaly lost 10 pounds.endoscopy performed,febrile mass is seen..what is most likely diagnosis??
1.sq.cell carcinoma
2.adinocarcinoma
3benighn stricture
4.reflux associated ulcer

plummer-vinson syndrome is associated with Esophageal webs and chronic anemia and dysphagia.it also increase the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma. presence of wt loss and worsening dysphagia suggest that complication od sq cell ca has developed.

you all are true ....let me explain Plummer vinson Syndrome:-
(a)female
(b)age greater than 45 years
(c)anemia (iron deficiency)
(d)glossitis
(e) predisposition to develop oesophageal cancer (squamous cell type)
(f) post-cricoid carcinoma (cancer of hypopharynx ) most commonly due to this syndrome..
(g) oh ya oesophageal webs seen on oesophagoscopy are characteristic..

Certain medical conditions predispose patients to the development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. These include achalasia, lye strictures, head and neck tumors, celiac disease, PlummVinson syndromeer-, tylosis, and prior exposure to radiation
