hi, i am a fmg for several years, when prepare my application, i noticed that, ERAS allows you NOT submit dean's letter but just mention you NOT have it in one section. since i have left school for several years and it might be difficult for me to get somebody sign the dean's letter, i am prone to just leave it blank. i am wondering if this will hurt me or just something not matter? good luck for everybody here

For my understanding, it is OK to ask ECFMG to provide the letter for you. However it is basically blank and is not as good as a letter from your school. Some programs may wonder why you don't have it or even challenge you on this issue.
