In which condition Serum Prothrombin time is measured for its diagnosis ????

I donīt get it! could you please explain, what you mean with conditions?

No guru, but answer is Inherited Factor VII deficiency. Very rare 1 in 500,000. PTT normal. Only prolonged PT.

Nice information! Actually is a very rare autosomal recessive disease male:female ratio 1:1

The question is not about plasma prothrombin time.Rather it is talking about "serum prothrombin time" .The routine PT is done on plasma not serum.

Been thinking about this Q for a while, tempted to google search. Guess u stumped the "gurus" too!!

lupus anticoagulant--PT high yet no history of bleeding problems. in fact recurrent thromboembolism may be presnt.

( was stumped b4 Kaplan talked abt it )!!

i did search and even for the lupus anticoagulants, tests are performed on plasma.sad
