broadly speaking clavicular fractures are treated non-operatively. the vast majority occur arond junction of prox 2/3 and distal 1/3 ( embryologic junction between osteochondral and membranous ossification) i think the more likely indication for surgery in distal 1/3 will be stuff like open fractures, marked displacement, involvement of the joint, nonunion etc. in the absence of any particular indication, i will go for non-op treatment including f08 and ordinary collar and cuff.
