donīt know the answer but as fat as I remember it is used for severe metabolic alkalosis, due to the high levels of chloride. (never seen it in a clinical setting).

step 1 stuff: read something about NO metabolism, involving it in erectile disfunction.

thatīs all in my head, when I get home will try to find something else...

Arginine HCl induces hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis the same as K sparing diuretics.

  #5

so, if chloride goes up, then the difference to Na IS GOING TO BE SHORTER?, (Na + K)-(cl +bicarb), hyperkalemia helps Na, and cl will help bicarb...???

not sure but go for (3).

does arginine itself have anything to do with the disturbance or is it just the HCl part?
