as a general recomendation everybody must get the vaccine in a yearly basis. but there are target groups that should get it: persons at increased risk for complications from influenza (e.g., children 6-23 months old, adults ≥65 years old, and persons with chronic medical conditions) persons aged 50-64 years persons who can transmit influenza to those at high risk all healthcare personnel so, CDC makes a lot of overlap when pointing at a specific age and who must get it. conclusion: on USMLE it is always needed, except when there is a real contraindication such as: Severe allergic reaction to previous dose or vaccine component, including egg protein. hope it helps, as GDS2008 just did.
