Is it #1 NG tube #2 octreotide #3 Upper GI endoscopy and banding?

or is it endoscopy followed by octreotide followed by ng tube? confused as hell! please help me.

  #2

i guess its octreotide before endoscopy , coz octreotide causes splanchnic vasoconstriction and reduces the bleed. but when do you insert an NG tube? is it after endoscopy or before?

In CCS, for the octreotide and endoscopy confusion, u put all dat in a single order right? so how does it matter what u write first? or does that matter?

I will order following:

1- IV access
2- IV NS, continuous
3. Pulse Oximetry, continuous
4. Octreotide (may add beta if possible, depends on patient,s condition.
5. BP cuff, continuous
6. NG tube (to follow bleeding)

Advance the clock 15 minutes then reevaluate
