i hread on this forum that its hard to get year 2 position after peliminary.i am interested in suregry and they say that for imgs its very hard to get into catgorical and most of the imgs that get into suregery land in peliminary surgery.
so if year two position is hard to get then can one apply in next match for a catgorical programe starting from 1st year is it easy to get or not.
does a J1 visa allows reapplying in next year match.

j1 allows u2 reapply
with 1yr usce u have better chances of categ. otherwise u can repeat prelim. many ppl get advanced placement as spots open up and residents go for research..
