i think this wud be best explained if we group the examples.

behavior continues=REINFORCEMENT.

if stimulus added--+ reinforcement
if stimulus removed-- - reinforcement.

behavior wanted= CHILD CLEANS ROOM
stimulus example= give chocolate (+ reinforcement)
=stop parents from scolding

4. extinction. REMOVE reinforcer.

eg stop giving the child chocolate and he might stop cleaning his rooms

stop paying attention ( reinforcer) when children throw tantrums

1. negative reinforcement = you slap the child when he has tantrums seeking attention, he stops screaming
2. positive reinforcement = you slap the child when he has tantrums seeking attention, he screams even more

4. exctintion = you ignore the child when he has tantrums seeking attention, he stops screaming - time out
5. fixed interval reinforcement = you get a candy for every hour of study, you continue studying
6. variable interval reinforcement = someone brings you a candy from time to time when he finds you studying for the exam, you continue studying

not a clue about what is "agressive" reinforcement: slaping the child until you exhaust the tantrums? sounds like punishment - adding a stimulus behavior stops, in this case a "set" of slaps, sound like equals negative reinforments still (?)

please correct if examples are wrong
