hi iam an img from india and in my previous post doc apurva vai and others had advised me to get my exams done early and begin application by september but due to reasons beyond my control my ck got delayed to aug and will give my cs in sept end....i dont ve any usce or lors...i plan to reach the us early and try see if something worksout with the few docs i know in the us...i ve the following questiions to doc apurva,bbb and other senior members.
1. as things stand i probably may have a lor from the doc i know by working in his hospital from mid sept and then get the lor in early to mid oct.
2.i know that this period from sept to dec is crucial and i would like to do the best possible to improve my case for an im residency this match.so plz advise
3. finally i would want to know how best i could utilise the docs i have got in touch with in the us who are willing to help
4.i am sorry to ask this again but latest by when do u all feel that i shld apply.
i am now very confused and request u all to plz help me as i am not sure on what i shld be doing and dont want to loose out on a residency in match2007.

cs in sept end is fine. apply asap. send the lor once you get it. ask all the docs u know and all the docs these docs know for an oship. give s3. gl

thanks for the prompt reply....do u mean that i shld apply without lors in the month of sept or shld i wait for atleast 1 lor and then apply
also wanted to know if applying in early to mid oct would be alright.when is the latest by which time u feel i shld apply.
i am sorry i have to repeat the same qs but plz take some time out to answer these qs

I'll repeat what I say over and over - apply as soon as you can with as a complete of an application as you can. Early September? Not necessary, unless programs are interviewing in October. Late September? Early October - mid October? You run the risk of not getting as many interviews because of the latest.
Again, as early as you can, with as complete of an application as you can.

apply on asap with lors from india and replace them with ur uslors once u get them. opinions may differ as to the wiseness of this advice. i have not yet found convincing argument to the contrary..

apoorva can we replace lor's . are u sure. i was keeping 1 lor place open but if we can replace it then better i go with 4 lor's

well bro - im applyin with 4 and going to replace. u can deassign. when u reassign a new lor gets sent. now pd has 5lors instead of 4. he shud see the 4 lors u have selected. and u can always take ur last lor on hand to iview as backup. sounds feasible to me
