hello all,

I really need your help. I am to give the Step 1 in three days from now and I did the NBME and got the following scores...
Block 1: 32/50
Block 2: 34/50
Block 3: 30/50

I think that a lot of questions on the above blocks, I attempted due to some vague recall or just a hunch.

I really do not understand how people get the three digit scores on NBME.
I studied on and off for 8 months and did read Kaplan twice and FA a lil bit, also read Qbanks. I was confident of clearing and getting somewhere in mid 80's but now I am confused.
I am unsure about neuroanat, histo but I am somewhat confident in physio, behavioral, micro, genetics, and avg in biochem, pharm.

Can anyone help? Is some level of confusion and uncertainty always there? Should I postpone my exam? I can use the three month extension.

It would be such a big help if you could offer some help.

Thanks in advance.

Nacho, I don't know how to corelate the scores you got, because in nbme they are 4 blocks of 50qs and not 3, and beside they give you the score and detailed report of your performance in the test. If you are gonna take it anyway I think it doesn't matter but if you want to think about it, I would take the real nbme from www.nbme.org for that you gotta pay $45 but it's a safe play. good luck

Nachos, perhaps ure talking about the usmle cd they gave u. thats 150 qs and 3 blocks. i hope u know that kaplan gives free explanations for those on its website. try going thru them and it will help u clarify ur confusions.
the nbme is the best test for self assessment. do mention what score ur aiming for. perhaps other ppl with similar scores cud then help u project urs.
good luck smiling face
