Hello all!
I'm sorry if this comes off as a really silly question but I would just like to know the concensus.
My understanding is that most IMGs like me take Step3 to be eligible for an H1b visa. However, I have NO visa issues. My question is, for someone like me, will taking Step 3 make my residency application stronger or should I just take it during residency? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It does makes your aplication look better. I'm going to take it before residency cause i have the time now and i dont know how busy i will be later when im a resident.

You only need to take it now if you are planning to use it for an 1b visa - it is NOT going to strengthen your application - the programs that I know of don't even look at it (unless it's a fail).
