prostate acncer is periphirally located and will produce obstruction at a letr satge when it involves base of baldder

It is not prostatic cancer because that causes drilling. ( obstruction)
It is not chronic GM because that causes heamaturia and decrease urine output GRADUALLY.
RCC would cause haematuria and also bilateral is rare.
Retroperitoneal fibrosis would not involve the calices.
I would like to guess staghorn because they SAID CALICES. Staghorn involve more than 1 calyse and cause atrophy.

but calculi are usually unilateral.
plz post the ans fong.

  #12

Personally I chose E, but the answer provided by Kaplan is D.

  #13

the only thing which will lead to bilateral Hydronephrosis is Bladder Obstruction n the Retroperitoneal Fibrosis is way down in the list the First ans would be Prostatic Ca cos the Patient did have lower abdominal pain.

but my question is Retroperitoneal Fibrosis wud also be a late presentation of bladder obstruction so which has the most precedence the Prostatic Ca or the Retroperitoneal fibrosis

n the Chances of a Staghorn Calculi being bilateral is very rare.
