I wonder why everybody is obsessed with applying on September 1 at 0:01? I understand applying early is important because of the number of applications per program and the number of positions per program, but I have read posts about applicants worried because they just got their letters.

I mean it is still August 24th. I would assume that if the application is strong, program will call for interview and if it is not, then I don't see how much applying early would help instead of trying to strengthen application. After all, the quality of the applicant should be more important than when he/she applies, right?

I know everyone ocassionally freaks out and I admit I did that already more than once. In these moments, this forum has helped me in many ways, so I wanted to post my comments for new applicants. so they don't freak out.

Finally, this is just my personal point of view. Different opinions are welcome. Best of luck to everyone!

Do 7 days matter? or 14 days?

I was freaking out earlier but ever since I read BBB's post somewhere that they do not begin reviewing applications before the third week of September I am laying back kool and sipping my vodka. I strongly believe, that applications till the 3rd week of September would be okay and it would be then that you begin to lose the time advantage.
Thats my take on the whole thing.cool
