sorry to bother with kind of a stupid Q; the idea is i have a lor from a nice US univ prof. I'm working with; I'm applying for 30 programs and I really don't want everyone of then to call her to ask about me. She is very busy and this will bother her for sure. So, the Q is how often usually a prog calls for more info? should I be worried about? I mean, we are gonna work together for a while and I don't want just to spoil our relationship bz of this. Thank you.

Think about how many applicants each program will deal with and then I guess you have figured out the answer to your own question. GL

I have never called a person listed in the recommendations. Well, there was that one time, but the letter writer completed residency with me and then we lost touch. Never - we never call.
