I'm US citizen, 2003 graduate, ECFMG certified, scores 81 & 80.,PGY 2 pathology resident out side US (middle east). Applied last year and got 2 interviews but didn't match.
I would like to know my chances for 2007 if I participated again and if its worth spending the money and efforts & if anybody have any recommendation for me to improve my chances like observship or any thing else.
Please need your advice and help.

dear colleague, it is quite difficult to answer to your question. we cannot evaluate your competitiveness according to what you wrote. we cannot get into the PD's head and understand the way their minds work.
You may get a position, like many of us, or you may not. it depends on the PDs, on God, and on you. just give a realistic evaluation of your competitiveness, stregthen your application with lors, etc. and apply to programs that can consider you. and pray...

There is always hope, if you are ready to try hard. I am sure with ur citizenship, there should be less hurdles... apply early in IMG friendly places... try to get USCE.... No one can tell you wether u should try or not...
