I mailed ERAS my original documents 14 days ago by international delivery from UK. My previous experience with the special delivery has been very good and letters are delivered within 7 days. It had been 14 days now and ERAS has still not recieved the pack. I emailed ERAS and they have confirmed this. I am now very worried, because i sent my original LORs and MSPE. What can I do, if originals are lost?

that's tough; maybe you are lucky and the shipping is just slow. If not, maybe you can ask for one more, explaining the circumstances...Good luck and I hope you'll come back with some good news.

send the copies u have and get them scanned while u get another set originals
i wud call and crucify the courier company. if they say they delivered to so and so at ecfmg on so and so date - i wud crucify ecfmg. bcoz its a pain in the backside to get lors and stuff..

my mail delivery service have said that they will contact me in 5 days to tell me who signed for my mail at ECFMG. I am hoping that in the mean time ERAS might also acknowledge the receipt of my LORs.. May be it is stuck in a pile - yet to be seen and scanned.... I am quite in a mess though because 2 of my consultants are actually away on Annual Leave and contacting my med school again for MSPE is going to ba a pain in ___ . I was so ready to apply on 1st sept.

sorry moozy, I hope things work out eventually. Take heart- ECFMG must be getting piles of stuff. They are good at misplacing and they might find your stuff .
Last week my friend gotr her CS pass letter and someone else's status report. Hope this is somehting like that.

I contacted ERAS today and confirmed the name of the person who has signed for my application packet. The ERAS says that i will have to wait 7- 10 days before they can actually confirm anything as there is increased work load and scanning and all might take longer. I hope they have my LORs. Thanks all for ur support. Anyone in the same boat as me??

yup i'm in the same boat as u...just that i sent my documents from the U.S but i sent them thru an automated service and i screwed up by putting a priority mail label in an express mail envelope which i found out later is a big deal...first the post office ppl said it wnt b delivered n go to the mail recovery unit in atlanta georgia..but today i saw the status as delivered..now i'm not sure if it was delivered or not and i called ecfmg and all they said is they r recieviing thousands of applications and cant tell me anything...i'm dying of anxiety..hav no idea wat to do..i dnt hav any1 to get me thse lor's from bak home..shud i scan the copies and send them too just to b sure or wat...plz help sum1..

I will wait another week before i contact ERAS again regarding how to go about the lost LORs.... i am hoping that they are stuck in some pile and they will find it eventually

yes but i was just wondering if i shud send in the copies...they'll b of no use if they recieved my originals but on the other hand they can b useful if they didnt recieve them...i'll hav sumthing until i figure out how to get them again...wat do u say?..

ERAS emailed today.. they have found my pack and will scan the documents in 3-5 days.... I feel relaxed now..... my anxiety was just reaching the threshold level. Thank u all for support..... one week to go for application to programs... good luck... I have selected 70 programs so far in IM.... still waiting for a NY programs to reply....

Hi Moozy, Congratulations at being able to track your documents. I have a doubt. You had written in your previous post that you have selected about 70 programs and still waiting for the NY programs to respond. I did not understand that. I think I know how to select programs. But is it necessary that I contact them. My situation is that I am planning to apply only in Chicago universities and hospitals due to personal reasons. So plan to apply to all the hospitals irrespective of the criteria. Anyway it would cost me $ 60 as all those programs I apply would come under the first 10 programs. So do you think even I must apply after contacting them or just apply, as I had planned.

Well I dont have much preference for a aprticular state in USA as far as I am getting a good IM program interview. As for you, if you plan to apply to Chicago only irrespective of their criteria, it is ur call. If you have to apply to only 10 programs in Illinois, its your choice wether u want to find their application criteria or not.
I have selected 70 porgrams so far after gaining all the info either by their website or email. I am waiting for most of NY programs to reply to me emails.
