B atropine ( in high doses diphenoxylate has euphoric effects and therefore chance of dependancy increases, therefore they add atropine to it, so if the pt wants to use more he/she has to tolerate atropine effects too smiling face I guess the same must be true for lopramide)

loperamide is the drug, the question is answering what's the drug for which is prescribed another drug for possible addiction...loperamide is an opiod...like eroin...

It's B.

It's not Loperamide because Loperamide has no abuse potential. The drug that's give is Diphenoxylate. But it's never given alone, because of abuse potential...hence the popular combination Atropine-Diphenoxylate to increase side-effects (due to Atropine's anti-cholinergic effects) and hence ward off potential drug abuse.

guys answer is atropine ...and the antidiarrheal given was diphenoxylate..hey..here is an interesting link. the drug comes in combos (diphenoxylate + atropine). Even though diphenoxylate is a narcotic, the addition of atropine is more like an aversive conditioning (like dulsulfiram) so that the person does abuse the drug, if he does...he gets the adverse effects of atropine.
