Several programms I apply require that the USMLE passing score 220 for each step. I have 225 for step 1 and 216 for step 2, so does that mean I have not hope to apply? (that is to say the system will automatically kick my application out?). thanks in advance for you guys' reply. I have very good surgery experience in my home country and very good research background in America (more than 20 first author publications).

it will depend on the hospital, some of them look at the whole application, some of them are very strict in their score requirem.

Your call, you have the average that they are looking for. Is it worth the $$ to try?

it means that they look at the average score ....so that means if i get less score in one step like around 88 then i can still hope for the best by working hard in step 2..am i right bbb and chemamar
