what is the linking factor b/n fatty acid oxidation and gluconeogenesis???..

  #2

fatty oxidation produces acetyl coA whic activates pyruvate carboxylase and inhibits pyruvate dehydropgenase-pyruvate carb is the mitochondrial enzyme and start point of gluconeogenesis-

  #3

correct me if i am wrong

  #4

yeah and also provides the energy required to drive gluconeogenesis---ATP for the ABC enzyme Pyr: carboxylase etc

  #5

It means from your views that AcetylCoA is the linking factor...

  #6

I agree, Fatty acid b oxidation provide FADH2, NADH and Acetyl Coa. Acetyl CoA is the allosteric activator of pyruvate carboxilase .and FADH2 and NADH provide the energy.

But also the realease of fatty acids from triacylglicerol yields glycerol which is transported in blood and can is converted to glycerol phosphate and then to DHAP which can enter gluconeogenesis.(but this is not the process of b oxidation).

so yes the linking factor is Acetyl CoA
