guys..im feelin disheartened now.....im a 2005 grad wid step score of 248 wid step 2 coming up in 10 days with cs planned for october....most my frnds tell me that im too late for this match as most programs wont call me for interview...my 2 ck score is expected october 1 st week,cs result in mid dec......guys i pls want ur honest opinion on this....also i have no research or usce behind me,dont think work experience in home country works much nywayz.....shud i wait for match 2008?bcoz i really dont want to...all my frnds n well wishers tel me it ll be waste of money if i apply dis match........apurva???/ bbb???? katzung???? please.....

From what I have learnt from this forum and my own web searches, it really would be too late by Mid Dec. At least for great programs and middle tier programs. Waiting for an year, strengthening your profile with USCE and/or research should help you secure a much better spot next year. Good luck though.

if u have a lot of money then do apply. u have good step 1 and step 2 ck will be coming soon too. cs is what is very late in ur case. strong candidate for next year with usce but u have to decide for urself. also don't go by my advice only wait for others too

well my friend. last yr i got my 247 in july. and my ck 236 in dec and cs in jan and certified in jan end. i had around 6 calls. so u can get calls. but i had applied to a 100+ progs and decided to voluntarily wait a yr for a uni h1. same timline - my gc friend is in a big uni prog. we both had no usce or research or even honors in skool so if u dont need a visa - ur still in good shape.
if u decide to go for a uni j1 and apply to a ton of places - u cud make it. but remem man 1yr means nothing. i wud rather wait a yr and be back with usce and s3 given and then grab all the good iview calls in sept 2008.
whatever u do - may the force be with u.. i know what ur goin thru - i really do. its like knowing ur good enuf but not havin it on paper to prove it to pds. and i know what a painful feeling it is.
