Hi people
anybody in this forum taken CS exam in houston and got their result pls post your result and the date of examination. I heard Houston center is very strict and less number of candidates pass...can not confirm how much true that statement is, but I am freaking out as I have not got my result yet. Please post your experiences and abt your result.
Hoping to get mine this wednesday. GL to all.

Hi doc179...My exam is on 5th sep at houston .4 of my friends wrote their CS in july and they all passed and they were very satisfied with the centre..God knows whats true?..

I have passed the exam and took the exam on same day as u.Result was reported on 16th.Another friend of mine who took the exam on same day hasn't got the result yet.So u can afford to relax and just wait for the result.GL.

Thanx guys, Thank you Anil for being so supportive , one of the girls who took the exam on the same day as us also got her result and she passed, so I was a little worried what might have happned with my result...but atleast knwoing that someone else is also in the same situation unnerves me , hope me and your friend and everyone else pass. Congratulations to you and GL to your friend and to everyone else.

druas: Good luck for your exam, dont worry everything will go just right for you. dont panic , dont get tensed , you have a lot of time to practice , so just practice practice and practice. I am freaking out cos I have not got my result yet, abt the center this is what I feel : everyone at the Houston center was very polite , friendly and kind. most of the SPs were very co-operative and understanding. I dont know what else to say as I feel I am not in a position to say anything until I pass this exam.

i took exam at houston centre ...............reading these reply making me tense ,,,,,,,, hey god help me .........plz ......i dnt wanna take this exam again .....i did not wash my hands in one bay and and i forgot few qustion on few bays...............

its been over a month since I took the exam and believe me I recollect new mistakes I have done in the exam every passing day. I have reached to a stage now that I keep thinkig what if they are unable to read to my PN (because of the very small paper they give us to write the PN I have stuffed most of the relevant data , as much as I could in it ).
well...I think the wait is not long anymore...according to people we will getting our result this wednesday. dont worry medicnull , lets keep our fingers crossed. GL

my PN were not written in a great manner either.The words just collided with one another from all possible directions.The paper was unable to hide itself from me as I attacked each empty space with my hawk eye to jot down all possible points.the things just went haywire.So I suppose u will pass if u were able to convey some points in history.
PS:my handwriting is a real doctor's handwriting.Nobody else can ever read it except the pharmacist.So I am sure Ur PN will be better thyan mine.GL

hi guys i gave my exam at the houston center on may 25th. got my result, i passed. i dont think its any different from other centers. the proctors were very nice and helpful . the SPs .. all regular cases which you can expect in the exam. so guys whoever is taking the exam in houston.. relax.. be confident and calm and before you know it the exam is over

Thank you druas. GL for your exam. Dont worry you will do well as this is a n easy exam. Dont be tensed, people usually say that one s always tensed in the first encounter and then he figures it out by the 2nd one. But for me the first encounter was a easy case but as I was tensed I did not perform upto the mark and then I felt I will do well in the next cases as this happens to everyone , but 2nd case was weird enough to scare me , so I was again scared in the 3rd and on that the SP was very unco-operative. and after the 3rd case I decided and I was aleady ready to retake this exam, I had lost hope. But then , thanx to good lord the 4th SP was soooooo sweet I was able to be myself in that encounter and he was very happy with me and after that the 5th was also very good and understanding, he even corrected me once with a smile. That was enough for me to boost my confidence, I started feeling that I might still have a chance to pass if I did the rest of the cases well. and after each case I was getting more and more confident , I can say that I was over confident by the end of the exam. But then I could see that the SPs liked me ( by the facial expression and the way they talked ) . I did not forget to knock, call the SP by name, introduce and then started history taking, just before the physical I used to drape them and then wash hands. I took permission for each of the things I did to SP, if they refused I explained why this thing is important for me to do on him. I dont think I did all the things that was necessary to be done in the physical , I mean I just did a focused physical. In one CNS case I ran out of time , I had just started the physical and I had to come out. So this is what I feel after the exam: Be yourself, Dont be tensed ( its inevitable that one is always tensed in the 1st but try to regain confidence atleast by the 2-3rd encounters ) , The SPs are very nice, if anyone of them is nt being nice with you , then its not because he does not like you, but cos he is being asked to behave like that so try to make him feel comfortable and try to address the issue thats bothering him. Be kind and nice, for anything you do take permission, or tell them before you do it. My hands are always cold especially in the exam like situation my hands are ice cold , so used to always wash my hands in hot water and then used to rub hands just before touching the SP and I always told them: I am rubbibg my hands to warm them up as my hands are always cold, and even after touching the SP if its cold : Sorry if they still cold ( I mean I used to show them that I was really concerned and I have tried everything to solve this issue ) and also the diaphragm of your steth usually becomes cold cos of the ac.well I dont think there is anything left regarding the encounter.
The PN : I had practiced to type, in a word document. But in the exam when I started typing I was so uncomfortable as I could not see what I have typed , I could not see the previous sentences I had typed and I used to always move the cursor up and down to keep checking this is what I have already typed and this is what I have type now , as in a word document you see from the beginning to the end but its not the case in the exam , so after the 3rd encounter, I switched to writing and I was quite quick in completing the PN , I used to come out of the room early and I used finish writing the PN early.
So last few words : be confident , this exam is easy , be kind, nice and the SPs are also very understanding and co-operative. The proctors are god, the center is fine. if you are a vegetarian carry your food as they have only fruits for you. Talk with other examinees, I made so many friends over there. I am surprised , I did not know so many people can become my friends in just one day. practice your cases well dont try to memorise your sentences as in a play , let them come to you spontaneously as in the exam the SP might ask you a challenged question or a situation which you have not studied in neither FA or UW, so try to be spontaneous. dont forget LIQOR AAA and PAM HUGS FOSS.
cant think of anything else...will let you know if I left something. the key is practice, confidence , be nice and kind...and you will definitely pass.

Doc 179 u said u got ur result now and u took ur exam one month back thats when i took my exam but i havent got mine ...i took in july 3 week ....and ecfmg says that result will be out in oct 11.....did u take ur exam before 15 july?? if u took after words then i have to really woory
