Tough Q. A, B and E are not typical presentations of these diseases, so I ruled them out. Vertebral basilar insufficiency causes: - nystagmus - Limb ataxia - Truncal ataxia (falling to the side of the lesion) - Contralateral perception of pain and temperature perception - Ipsilateral limb and trunk numbness, and loss of taste - Visual field deficits. About carotid thrombosis I dont´know much, except that it presents as TIA´s and rare in children, but since C doesn´t quite fit I chose D.
