Hi everyone, I am writing this note the day after I got the new that I passed my step 2 CS! I took my exam on June 8th in Philadelphia. I live in Maine and I loved to spend 2 days in Philly! that made my exam experience a little bit better. Nevertheless I spent the last 2 months and half full of doubts about the exam! I thought my note were not complete enough (not enough differential diagnosis, PE, history.....even too many test....one time I wrote 3 tests in the same line so that I fit 7 tests.....another time I asked only for 3 tests!). I thought my enconters were not adequate: I spent not more than 5 words to convince someone to quit smoking, less than 3 to tell a guy to be carefull with occasional relations!!!! and the PE?!? I messed up with the otoscope and the ophtalmoscope.....forget about the possibility to examine every system is impossible! and once I even called a big guy....miss!!! Well.......I passed.... Thanks God I did not panic during the exam and I was able to focus on the problem without thinking that there were 3000 million extra thing to do! I know it is easier to say than to do but repeat to yourself that is not a tough exam, it is almost a game....they play the patients and you have to play the doctor....nobody is asking you to be perfect! I want to share my experience becasue I found very useful to read about other experiences while I was preparing.... Being foreigner the most difficult think of studing for the USMLE was not to know what is about, I finally found this link when I was almost at the end of step 2 CK....the benefit is huge!!!! Thank you to everyone! Last thing: I studied with a good friend of mine, she is not a doc, but she is a lovely and patient person.....when you prepare step 2 CS, find someone with a lot of spare time and patience, a grandma is great!!!! and practice everyday. If english is not your first language, get familiar with the most common words and speak slowly. For the patients' question answer using a lot of common sense and appling the role that you have to say the truth, even when it is I do not know! Study tools? I used first aid, USMLEWORLD and digiltaldoc. It was great to learn about the OASIS trik....there are very clear direction on digitaldoc, for me worked for both step 2! If anyone that read this long message has a question or a frustration that would like to share with me, please do not exitate!!! USMLE is not fun, at all.....to have someone to share it, it is great, and very very useful... Once again thank you all

I didn't have such a thing in my exam. But the drapping seems very important. For the hip examination proceed at the mode of the places that give massages........expose only the area you are working on, always asking permission and put the drap back as soon as you are done and ready to move on
