Does one have to be in med school to be eligible for elective rotations? as in, do these programs accept graduates (read IMGs) too?

To do a medical school elective, you have to be in medical school.
Our program will take a small number of IMGs, local grads get first choice. The IMGs have to complete certain criteria that is completed through another department so I am not familiar with it. But you have to be in medical school.
