1st Sunday

Vallia, I think 66% in BSci is pretty good considering the damn questions that we have to face, so, cheer up cause this is the subject that we only know that we dunno if we got them right, so, nice job with that score Now try to master your biostat and epidemio cause those are safe plays as Daugherty always says. Thanks for your input buddy

Keepgoing! you are so nice, thanks for your words of support and I do have the energy back on my blood, actually I started working out, that must help jeje anyway, I I have been working on my micro and it seems that I will never get those names right, but I dont give up, will keep trying till master this subject. I see you are doing Anatomy, which is kind of cool except for Neuro, which needs lots of care than the other topics, good luck buddy and thanks for stopping by, isn't it nice to receive inputs from others that are fighting just like us?

MRMAVERICK, thanks for your visit to this thread and I see you just opened your journal, good start, as you see we are not alone. Good luck on your studies mister

Nan, I know life will change next year it was just a little nostalgia for the good old times jeje it seems that I hit deep with my comment right guys? Ok now let's go to the important stuff, study study and study Good luck on your way Nan

Guys, here still fighting with micro and the fun guy from the videos but it's ok, nothing that a can of "Red Bull" can't fight had some personal stuff to do today but somehow I managed to complete all my goals for the day, so, for that, cheers!

Have a nice sunday and get some deserved rest.

Ok, monday again, had an ok day, was kind of early at Kpl and did my qbank fo micro which by the way kicked my ass but it's good cause I know I have to master micro somehow, any advice is welcome, doing kaplan only nowadays. friends areound are such a bless, virtual and real are great source of support, keepgoing, Vallia and Prep4usmle, looks like we are kind of Musketeers grin jeje. I am going to start Patho from wednesday, plan to use Goljan and Kpln, to be honest I have never read kaplan for patho, so how is it guys? will need to do the tapes though if I want to have some discussion going at the center.

I am kind of tired, do you think it's because my 2 diet red bulls? I will check you guys tomorrow, have a good one wink

Hi Mususq,
From what I've read Goljan Patho is better than Kaplan. I have watched Kaplan video few months ago, it helps but I think for more reinforcement do Goljan audio lectures.
I also added BRS Patho & on my 2nd read now. It is tough but hey we can do this.. RIGHT?
W/ Micro one HY topic is the lactase neg., stuff, single or double stranded org.
There's tables in MMRS that I try & still trying to swallow. I f I could just GUULPP all of these organisms... I will do it.. just to have it stick in my brain. Crazy me huh .. just joking. I am so pressured.. I want to pass this darn test..
Anyway GOOD LUCK ...

  #37

Vallia, you are funny with your little "must know" micro list but i will try somehow to learn how to master all this bugs and having them at the tips of finger, thanks for your advice buddy. I see you are going through Immuno, buddy also try to do questions everyday, because these test cycles will guide us in what we must re-view again when we make errors, and beside, we are building both test-taking skills and the stamina we need for the test day, keep up Vallia.

Goodyear, thanks for your inputs, I decided to do a 1 reading of kaplan books with videos and stuff and since Barone will be around maybe will try to ask him some question if I have a doubt, it shouldn't be aproblem going through it I hope. I see you are doing Path, good luck on your studies

For today I will review nbme questions just for micro so I will see you guys if anybody is there, on micro forum, tomorrow I will start with Patho from Kpln, see you guys tomorrow and have a very productive day.

  #38

hi, Musuq, I would like to suggest you to stick on one book like Goljan, again and agian. maybe more efficient! recently, I do Qbank meanwhile reading books. questions really help to understanding concepts. but, I am struggle with forgeting. no way, just review again. how many houres do you study everyday? I feel not enough time to finish my daily plan.

  #39

Lilla, good to know about you and thanks for the tip, I did Goljan before, some topics better known than others but definitely I want to master it, it's just that recent takers told me that pathology kaplan should give me a general view about this subject and beside, the tapes are not that long and very easy to follow through, I will just have a quick review but my main source is still Goljan. So you are doing Qbank? yes, it helps to focus specially in our mistakes wink About my schedule? I try to have at least 8 hours of good studying everyday. sometimes I think I should study more but I feel burned out after the second day of trial, so it might not be such a great idea if it wont last longer, and since I go to kpln everyday, during breaks or so I like to pop up questions to my friends and they do the same, so even during breaks I try to hang in there, it's just a lot more fun with friends smiling face Lilla you are doing great, hang in there.

Today I did my patho portion of the day, although I am using kaplan notes I try to add some goljan stuff to my book, at least there is space there not like goljan where every white space is filled jeje. everybody have a great last day of august. I am kind of tired now, good night.

  #40

Hi musuq!how ya doin,buddy?
well for micro use concept maps i tried and its good and i review them at end of day or during tea breaks/watching tv etc so u juz try to make maps there are very few bacterias need to know(medically impt ones)juz stay cool...u know now i have bacterias atleast on my fingertips(????overconfident) hope till exam they stay thereraised eyebrow god is kind i know wink...!

well juz wondering if u go to kaplan daily why dont u juz revise the things they teach u that day..and rest of the day if get time u may try ur weak areas....hope u got my point(sorry if i hv interpreted anything wrong).I agree its really frustrating and we cant sit for study for 8hr long unless we really enjoy raeding that subject so try to amke ur study interesting draw pic use colourfull markers(our brain has tendency to retain pic info and colourful images for long time) and the ways r endless i know u will say its easier said than done but im also struggling these days buddy so i know sometimes i feel to escape from this planet...grinnod but reality is something different gotta live here only so have to do it!so lets do it...!

i know u r doing gr8 juz keep the spirit up n keep moving on!

happy start of september...enjoy studying!smiling face

Keepgoing, thanks for your input smiling face I am doing pathology right now and so far it's good, you know can't achieve my 100% goals of the day but at least 80% is well done. So, now you are doing Micro? I had to put it away for now cause I want to study pathology since Barone is around, so if I have any question I can just go and ask him, so far 6 chapters done from kaplan, and let me tell you he got good stuff to share, by the way he is so funny grin

For tomorrow, plan is, just stick to pathology and do my mcq's , hell i haven't done those in 2 days sad so now I should go back and have my daily qbank, this is the time for training wink

Keepgoing, what is your next subject, good job about having micro well done, keep it up buddy smiling face Ok, it's almost midnight, got to go to sleep. Tomorrow Sept 1, oh boy, time flies, so let's do our best this new month. Good night guys.

  #42

Felt kinda sick today sad, so I didn't finish my goals for this day but I will catch up tomorrow wink and hopefully be in good shape to my schedule. Don't you guys have sometimes the feeling that you are never gonna pass this test? I do, specially when friends tell me how hard is the test getting nowadays oh boy, Lord give me the strengths and courage to take this till the end and reach my goals, I don't have nothing else to offer to this world, I can only be a doctor so I better sweat my ass off for this challenge.

Have a great saturday guys, don't let weekends to knock down your progress.

  #43

musuq, good going on pathology, this is the most important subject so it must be mastered. I think 80% of the target is great, keep this pace. And one more thing, never get discouraged, everybody here is smart enough to beat this test. What you need is perseverance and you got it, so move on....

Hey guys, have a nice labor day!

Vallia, Good year, keepgoing, thanks for your inputs, I have been down the past days, feel very anxious and sad about one of my parent's health, I can only pray to God to help us going through this but as I said, there is nothing I can do but pray, so I will have to be the toughest person and move on with my pain. I am still doing Pathology, not so productive the last days but I will go back tomorrow, I may get up at 5am like some of you smiling face and catch up some reading, I am doing Kaplan, pathology, not like doing Goljan but I have to be done with this cause I decided to give this a try, the new videos of Barone are really funny, which makes easy for me going through the material, I like the pictures, photos they show of the diverse pathology. That is still my goal for this week, to finish pathology.

Vallia, thanks for your concern, as you see I am just dealing with a big pain but I will be back tomorrow, I see in your journal that you are doing great, good girl

Goodyear, I saw you are just on track, keep it up buddy cause this is your goodyear right?

Keepgoing, thanks for your words of support, yes we gotta do this and in the right way, we can do it I know, we just have to put our guts into this, have a great study week buddy

Prep4step1, I know you are back, welcome back and hope you hang around with us

Everybody have a great and productive week.

  #48

Oh Musuq , you are the kindest person, I'm sure you'll do everything you can to comfort your family. be strong and keep going

Vallia, thanks for your support this is a very tough moment for me but I can only study harder cause I have no other way to help this situation. I know this is possible, so let's do our best. thanks sweetie. smiling face

Keepgoing, I agree, patho is the most important subject for the exam as the number of questions are always the most so I am taking my time to understand and memorize some important stuff. I am now on chapter 13 almost half way, but today I feel much better so I may be more productive today, thanks buddy.

Oh, about the avatar, I learned this from somebody else in the forum, there is a place called www.photobucket.com in this website you can store your graphics and pics, then once they are saved in your free account at photobucket, they give you an "[ IMG ]" code that we can use to paste it in our posts here. I learned it because I didn't know how some people can paste their whole graphics on their posts nicely and some just attach it in a file, which I don't like it, so photobucket help me in that way. I am sure now you will never forget the genetic concept of Cystic Fibrosis right? A.R. disease, defect is Deletion of the aminoacid Phe at position508 wink

Still doing Patho but hopefully this can be done this week, I would like to do my next review with Goljan though, after reading Kaplan, I always feel that patho is my week subject, so I better get this concepts cold.

Have a great day guys.
