hi all, i m an img from india. new to this whole procedure. i recently applied for the ecfmg id#. in the personal info column, i filled in my name as sridivya yadagiri but, my medical diploma reads as y.sridivya. wht do i do now? can i re-fill the online form again? my passport has sridivya yadagiri in it. wht do i do? pleaaaaase do reply!!!! good luck to all of u!!

You dont need to change your name with ecfmg.Just make sure that when you send your diploma for credential verification,enclose a letter from Principal that both names are yours.

why dont you call the ecfmg and ask what to do

I've had many people have the same problem around me also. Some had diff name on passports, some on degree certificates, etc.. It creates a lot of problems. I cant help you much on this topic... But as a reminder to all the other people who are applying afresh : "Please Check that your name in your passport, Marksheets and degree certificate is consistant" - Otherwise USMLE ppl will deinitely trouble you a lot In case if the names are diff - Seek legal advise from someone who has some ken on this issue. And it never hurts to call up ECFMG and tell them your problem Cheers Vzx
