Apply now, the letter will come later. Or apply later (depending on when) with the letter.

thanks people... but bbb ... if i apply with out LOR ... and assign the LORs to a program ... how can i re assign the LOR lator...i mean to say...when i ll apply to a program , i ll have to assign the LOR so should i check the BOX of US loR despite the fact it might not have beeen uplooaded by then or even reached ERAS by then....if so... will it be automatacally assigned to the program concerned once its there...thanks in advance

You can change for a new LOR at a later time.Even if they have already downloaded your application. However the program has to do a second download. But they usually they do it for new stuff such as new scores or deans letters or why not new LOR.
I read this info some time ago on ERAS. I'll try to find the text.

do does it mean i should assign the LOR of US doc to a program even if it has not been scanned/ reached ERAS along with three other LORs koz i think the max. one kan sen is 4 LORs.... and when its uploaded ... i should email them to down load it...
plz tell me if its okey in this way.....

Working in a residency program, I download two-three times a day in high application season. We can look at documents that have been uploaded just by clicking on a filter that says "review documents received in the last days"

Hi I am in the same situation.
I will recieve my final USlor by 30th August.
According to my understanding I will assign 4 lors, even if the fourth one is not scanned. It will be downloaded by the programs as soon as eras scans it. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Ok one question exclusively for BBB.
Which one is a better idea? the one i discussed above or just wait till my final lor is scanned and then apply with all the lor's maybe in the second week of september? Being in a program I think only u can help on this. How would you prefer it? To recieve all the lors at once but application is late or an early application with a missing lor.

apply stat with any 4 lors - home / us. then update and switch ur lors as u get them and they are scanned. no issue.. relax

You cannot switch letters once u assign a letter writer to a program. you can only add new lettters or update the letter from the same letter writer.

thanks BBB and every body else... so the bottom line is that i apply and assign the LOR and once its there... lets hope the program will download it.. am i right

Doc Apurva please read the other thread 'late lor'. I dont think ur idea of stop gap lors is a good one.

hi there faris - my reply was for docroc my droc is actually gansta for "the rock" coz i love metal
yes u can assign a lor which hasnt yet been uploaded or scanned. it will be sent along as soon as it is uploaded. call it kinda preorder
