Hello Everyone! i feel i have had more than my fair share of ups and downs on the road to ecfmg certification. i started preps for step 2 taking a time of 3 months. the first month i dedicated to reading Kaplan Notes twice, First Aid 1 time and Platinum VIgnettes ( not really recommended by many but they are priced at 75 Rs =1.5 dollars for each and so very cheap). I felt I was in a reasonable shape but then i took a subscription for USMLE world and found my score in between 50-60 in allsubjects except medicine in which i scored around 75%- I have done residency in India in the subject. Did more studying and extended my subscription by 7 days to 37 days to read all the matter. Ended with a cumulative score of 67% doing all in tutor mode with unans questions only. last 15 days one more reading of Kaplan and Kap Sim (scored around 84%) and I felt I was ready. The day before i did the qs from usmle got around 85% and was satisfied. went to sleep at 9 , was about to fall asleep but a phone call got me fully alert again. I had kept some tabs of Zolpidem for sleep probs but they were of no help.I repeated doses in desperation. Ihad to get up at 5.00 with no almost no sleep and 50mg of zolpidem in me. I do not now remember how I got to the exam hall and how i started the exam. I was answering reflexly I guess, but suddenly the red screen flashed telling me the exam would be locked as i had made no input in a long time. That got me awake . I went out drank some coffee and realized it was 11 am. I came back to find that i had done 3 blocks in my groggy state. Felt very panicy but told myself to cool down and did the rest of the test to the best of my ability.Finished with 2.5 hoursstill in hand Could not believe my luck that i passed with 99/252! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! all of you who left messages that stopped me from losing hope and abandoining the USMLE project altogether.
